Teams

Build together. Create a team, invite members by email, assign roles, and switch between your personal account and any teams you belong to.

Teams let you build on DevDojo with others. Instead of everything living under your personal account, a team gives you a shared space where members see and work on the same apps, according to the roles you assign. It's a natural fit for a company, a client project, or building alongside a friend.

You'll find teams in your account menu, through the team switcher near your avatar or under Account → Teams.

Create a team

Creating a team takes seconds.

  1. Open the team switcher (or go to Account → Teams).
  2. Click Create Team (or New Team).
  3. Give the team a name — for example, your company or project name.
  4. Save. Your new team is created and you become its owner.

Apps you create while working in a team belong to that team, so every member can access them.

Invite members

Bring people in by email — they don't need a DevDojo account beforehand.

  1. Open your team and go to Members (or Invitations).
  2. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
  3. Choose the role they should have (see below).
  4. Send the invitation. They'll receive an email with a link to join.

Note — Pending invitations show in your team's members list until they're accepted. You can resend or cancel an invitation anytime if plans change.

Roles and permissions

Roles decide what each member can do. While exact roles can vary by team, they generally follow this shape:

  • Owner — full control, including billing, deleting the team, and managing every member. There's always at least one owner.
  • Admin — can manage members and apps, but not team-level billing or deletion.
  • Member — can work on the team's apps but not manage the team itself.
  1. In the Members list, find the person whose role you want to change.
  2. Select a new role from their options.
  3. Save — the change applies immediately.

Tip — Give people the least access they need to do their work. You can always promote someone later, and it keeps sensitive actions like billing and deletion in trusted hands.

Switch between teams

You can belong to several teams as well as your personal account, and switching between them changes which apps you see.

  1. Click the team switcher near your avatar.
  2. Choose your personal account or any team from the list.
  3. Your dashboard updates to show that context's apps.

The team you're currently in is your active context — new apps you create land there, so double-check the switcher before creating an app if it matters where it lives.

Removing members and leaving a team

  • To remove someone, open the Members list, find them, and choose Remove. They lose access to the team's apps right away.
  • To leave a team you're a member of, open the team and choose Leave Team. (Owners need to transfer ownership or delete the team instead.)

Warning — Removing a member or leaving a team is immediate and revokes access to shared apps. Make sure any work in progress is handed off first.

Teams share more than apps — they can share a plan too. See billing for how subscriptions work across a team, or revisit your own profile & settings to fine-tune how you appear to teammates.
