Sleep is a daytime problem
The two hours that decide how you sleep happen before lunch, not after dinner.
Almost everything sold for sleep is sold for the last hour of the day. The evidence points somewhere less convenient: the strongest lever on tonight's sleep is what your eyes saw within an hour of waking.
Light sets the clock, and only light
The cells that entrain your circadian rhythm respond to a narrow band of blue-shifted light at intensities you will not get indoors. A bright room is around two hundred lux. An overcast morning outdoors is ten thousand. That gap is the whole mechanism.
Ten minutes outside within an hour of waking advances the clock and, roughly sixteen hours later, brings the evening melatonin rise forward with it. No supplement in our range does anything comparable.
Then caffeine, then temperature
Caffeine has a quarter-life longer than most people assume; an afternoon cup is still measurably present at midnight. And core temperature has to fall for sleep to begin, which is why a warm shower ninety minutes before bed helps — it dumps heat afterwards.
What PM-04 is for
Against those three, a formula is a small lever. We built PM-04 for the nights when the daytime went right and sleep still does not arrive: glycine and magnesium for onset, apigenin for the two o'clock waking, theanine for the mind that will not stop drafting emails. It contains no melatonin, because melatonin is a clock signal and you already have a better one outside your front door.
