New releases go out on Tuesdays after the 5:00 PM ET settlement window closes, so nothing changes under a run in flight.

Payout runs can wait for a funding transfer

A run no longer has to be funded before it is approved. Approve it against a pending ACH pull from your operating bank and Pinnacle holds the run until the money lands, then sends it in the next window.

  • The run shows Waiting on funding with the transfer's expected arrival.
  • If the pull is returned, the run is cancelled and both approvers get an email.
  • Runs funded from a Pinnacle account still go out the moment they are approved.

FedNow reaches 412 more credit unions

Our partner banks now route FedNow payments to 412 credit unions that joined the network this summer, most of them in the Midwest and the South. Contractors at those institutions move from same-day ACH to instant on their next payout, with no change on your side.

About 73% of the checking accounts on Pinnacle now take instant payouts, up from 69% in June.

Sweep rules on a threshold, not just a schedule

Sweeps used to run on a calendar. Now a rule can fire whenever an account crosses a line — move anything over $1,200,000 in Operating to Tax reserve, or top Payouts back up to $500,000 the moment a run settles.

  • Threshold rules check every fifteen minutes during banking hours.
  • Each sweep posts as its own journal line, tagged with the rule that made it.
  • Calendar rules keep working exactly as before.

Approvals on your phone, with the key you already carry

Second approvers can now approve a run from the mobile web app and tap a security key over NFC to sign it, instead of waiting to get back to a laptop. The approval log records the device and the key used.

Contractor receipts show the right time zone

Receipts for payouts that settled after 9:00 PM ET showed the next day's date for contractors in the Pacific and Mountain time zones. They now show the time in the contractor's own zone, taken from the address on their W-9.

Receipts already sent were corrected and re-sent to the 1,140 contractors affected.

Ledger sync for Ledgerwood, with subsidiaries

Companies that pay contractors from more than one legal entity can now map each Pinnacle account to a Ledgerwood subsidiary. Journal lines post to the right books, with intercompany entries when a run is funded from a different entity than the one that owes the money.

Run 2026-07-21 · Payouts ••2290 → Sablewood Builders LLC (TX)
6100 Contract labor · field $84,212.50

TIN checks the day a contractor is added

Pinnacle used to batch IRS TIN matching on Sundays. It now runs within the hour a contractor submits a W-9, so a mismatch is caught while they still remember filling the form in, not in January.
