• 2026 A hover state is a promise August 12, 2026 Most lists light up one row at a time. Moving a single block between them costs forty lines and changes how the whole page feels.
• I stopped writing scroll animations June 28, 2026 Every section fading up as you reach it is the most common motion pattern on the web, and I have not shipped one in a year.
• Three tiers of grey March 4, 2026 A dark page with no accent colour has to carry its entire hierarchy in text brightness. Three levels is enough. Four is a mess.
