The whole week, handled from the floor
Rota is built for people who clock in, not people who sit at desks. Everything works one-handed, on a break, in under a minute.
Trade a shift in two taps
Pick the shift, pick who covers it, send. Rota only offers it to people with the right role and hours to spare, so the manager's yes is a formality.

Open shifts fill before service
Post a gap and it goes to everyone qualified to take it. The first yes wins, and the manager gets one notification instead of forty.

Hours you can check before payday
Every clock-in, break and swap lands on one timesheet, so the number on the paycheck is the one you expected on Thursday.

I swapped a Saturday close from the bus stop. My manager approved it before I got home. That used to take three days and a group chat argument.
Jordan Okafor
Line cook, Brasa, Denver

Sunday night I publish the schedule and I'm done. Swaps come to me already matched to someone qualified, so I just tap yes.
Morgan Hale
General manager, Harbor & Pine

Our open shifts used to go to whoever read the whiteboard. Now they're gone in about ten minutes, and it's fair.
Riley Chen

I check my hours against the timesheet every Thursday. Two months in, my paycheck hasn't been off once.

New hires get it without training. They open the app, see their week, and that's the onboarding.

Questions from the back of house
Anything else, ask the people who built it. We answer within a business day.
[email protected]Does my crew need to download anything?
They get a link by text and see their week right away in the browser. The app adds reminders and one-tap swaps, and it's free on iPhone and Android.
Who approves a swap?
Whoever you choose per site: a manager, a shift lead, or nobody for same-role swaps. Rota only offers a shift to people with the right role and hours to spare.
Can Rota stop people going over their hours?
Yes. Set a weekly cap per person or contract, and swaps that would break it are never offered. Minor labor rules are built in for all 50 states.
We already use a POS for clock-ins. Does it connect?
Rota reads clock-ins from the major restaurant and retail POS systems and exports timesheets to payroll as CSV. Setup takes about twenty minutes.
What does it cost?
Free for one site with up to 25 people. After that it's $2.90 per person per month, and managers never count toward the total.
How long does it take to get a team on it?
Most sites publish their first schedule the day they sign up. Import staff from a spreadsheet, send the invite link, and people start joining within the hour.
Put the week in their pocket.
Free for one site and up to 25 people. Send the invite link on Sunday and the whole crew is on Monday's schedule.
